WORK IN PROCESS

A blog, I guess.

ACLU Centennial Poster

April 18, 2020

Hi y’all!

A few months ago, Curtis Dickie reached out to me and asked if I wanted to contribute art to a collaborative poster celebrating the ACLU’s 100th year.

I definitely said yes.

I wanted to share my sketch to final piece. We all based our illustrations on the same image of Lady Liberty’s torch. I like to start most of my projects by sketching. That sketch is usually what I would share with the client (let’s make neat things together!) before diving into the digital process. Once we get the image of the full poster, I will be sharing with y’all. There were 10 artists involved and I love the work I’ve seen behind the scenes.

It's hard convincing a client that a sketch can become even more than what it is at its most simple state. I'm hoping to have this blog be a place of process to show how a project can transform from sketch to final and beyond.
